You specifically keep in mind that the lighter sherries have to be stored in the fridge. Go that mean that the other species do not have to be refrigerated?

That is definitely what the on slide implies. Yet would maintaining the darker sherries in the refrigerator extend their life even further? I'm guessing yes however I don't know the official answer to that one.

I dislike these overaggressive time frames that 1) discourage human being from buying the stuff and 2) don't complement up come taste.

Things choose hearing the vermouth is poor after 1/2/7 days is an excellent for a restaurant, yet the house user can't afford that particularly for slight decays in smell (old vermouth i do not care noticeably sharp yet that is countless weeks out).

The life span of the sealed bottles is a little bit scary.

I nothing think a the majority of sherry is moved about that lot from the shelves in mine area. This would typical they are most likely all too old…

Posted by:Carla |September 02, 2011 at 07:17 AM

I'm not sure how California sherry is do (I'm guessing not at all in the same means as in Jerez) or if the is supposed to critical longer, however if the still smells/tastes good then i don't mean there is any reason no to use it!

I have actually A party OF 1925 LONDON CREAM SHERRY SEALED through THE labels ON IS it STILL an excellent AND WORTH any THING

Posted by:friesen1

Trying to figure out just how old a party of Fairbanks cream Sherry is. The was open when provided to me, but had been kept in the fridge, not sure for exactly how long though. I have no suffer with sherry, so don't recognize what it's suppose to odor like. Ay thoughts?

If that smells favor vinegar, that's bad. An ext likely if it's old that will just taste flat and possibly unpleasant. Generally, sherry smells favor oxidized wine; favor sweet vermouth to part extent.

Sherry really often smells nutty, for this reason that's normal.

I just opened mine Pastora Amontillado from trader Joe's. That tastes an excellent but looks a small cloudy. I bought that awhile ago and assumed it would remain fine in mine pantry (dark). Opinion please?

Cloudiness can happen when liquids acquire cold or simply be organic sedimentation, despite I'm surprised that you'd uncover it in sherry. Anyway, if you've simply opened it and also it tastes fine climate it's probably simply fine. It's once things taste vinegary that it's time to to toss.

I just opened a botle of celebration event Cream sherry through Pedro Domecq. Its remained in the ago of my save room (Dark, even temperatures)for at the very least 20years with some other bottles inherited native my parents so its probably 30 year old. Ns dont drink a lot and also when I carry out its port so this obtained left. The cork degenerated on pulling and also I thought, oh, too ~ (Or something favor that). Sniffed it scented ok, quiet absolutely clear so i took a sip and its gorgous. The 2nd glass was even better, looks like I obtained a surprise Xmas pressie." width="50" height="50" />

I have a party of Christian brothers dried sherry the has remained in my pantry -- opened let me add for a couple of years. Should I toss it? that does no smell vinegary
