Did oil and filter change today. After putting in 4 quarts, level on dipstick is 20% over minimum/ 80% below maximum. This is after beginning engine, and moving vehicle to level ground. I had to placed in added 450ML to obtain to 90% over minimum/10% listed below maximum. Full is 4.47 Quarts / 4.23L.It"s a 2009 Honda civic DX-G. Owner"s manual specifies 3.9 quarts / 3.7 L because that oil and filter change. This is my very first DIY oil change. Have actually I let go something? Is over there too little oil in the bottles?

Well the hands-on is more than likely telling girlfriend what you have to put in to obtain it to minimum.... Minimum is what is required, no maximum. Plus account because that variances you present by driving around any, placing it right into a warm engine, or the great the auto is parked on.You really put full synthetic in a civic? ns hope it"s just to expand the OCI lol.

I am return 5 x 4L party of quaker state standard oil (5 x 4L bottles) the I had actually bought for 5000KM/6month OCI for the next 2.5 years.. One of my colleagues uses synthetic, he speak me out of conventional and into synthetic.Extending OCI is reason #1.Better engine protection is factor #2. This probably leads come smoother engine and also longer engine life.Better mileage, reason #3. This is arguable, maybe 1% fuel savings over conventional.Winter begin is easier, factor #4.

I began engine, relocated onto level ground, then checked dipstick.I am wonder if the bottles must be fuller. Noticing the left most bottle"s oil level is in ~ the party label. It"s more than likely by architecture to have big enough bottles to leave some air to avoid accidental spill, may be to much air?EDIT: the old oil fills up a 3.78L windshield liquid bottle, looks fuller 보다 a new bottle the windshield fluid. I should test the bottles through water. I suppose to check out 4 x 1 qt bottles of water, at the exact same level together the new oil, to fill up the very same 3.78L windshield liquid bottle.
